The ticket includes both entrance and the Hamlet Live event. It is valid for one day only. You can experience Hamlet Live at Kronborg Castle from June 1st to August 31st, 2019. The ticket is valid on any given date in this period.

What is Hamlet Live?
Hamlet Live is an interactive theatrical experience. Hamlet, Ophelia, Claudius, Gertrude and Polonius take up residence in the castle halls and private chambers during the summer. When visitors walk into the Courtyard of Kronborg Castle, they tumble right into the story. The fate of Hamlet unfolds before their very eyes as they walk around the castle. No one knows who they will meet and when. Hamlet Live is a live performance that will play out daily during all the opening hours of Kronborg Castle. You will meet the characters as you walk through the castle.
Who is the target audience for Hamlet Live?
Everyone! Both adults and children. You do not have to be an expert in Shakespeare or the play Hamlet. Guests experience the essence of the plot in the drama boiled down to six essential main characters that carry the story. The dialogue has been transformed into easily understandable English.

How do I get to Kronborg Castle?
The castle is located a 15-minute walk from Elsinore Station and about a 45-minute train ride from Copenhagen Central Station. Find information about getting to the castle by foot, train, car, taxi or bicycle.

Yes, we have cafes on the premises.
Wheel chair access
We have wheelchair accessibility to the castle, however, inside we have winding renaissance stairs and no elevators. Guests in a wheelchair could visit the ground floor and the courtyard, welcome centre, church, castle gift shop and the Sound Toll exhibition located here.
Will I be allowed to take photographs?
Yes, photography is allowed, but selfie sticks are not allowed at Kronborg Castle. Please be mindful of other visitors. Photography/filming should be for personal, non commercial use only. Access behind ropes or other barriers is strictly prohibited.
