Practical information about Christiansborg Palace

Wardrobe lockers and luggage storage

Big bags, backpacks, suitcases, strollers and umbrellas are not allowed in The Royal Reception Rooms due to security, fragile interior and delicate floors.

As wardrobe and storage facilities are limited, only small bags and umbrellas can be stored. Strollers can be parked in The Queen’s Gate at own risk.

To store big bags and suitcases find nearby storage options at Segway Tours and Luggage Hero.

Photography

Taking photos for private use is permitted during your visit to the Royal Reception Rooms, the Ruins, the Chapel and the Stables. Flash, lamps and tripods may not be used. Photographing for commercial and professional use is forbidden without prior permission from the palace administration.

Please be aware that there may be specific copyright rules connected with works of art, if the artist was alive within the last 70 years. Such works of art may not consitute a substantial part of the photograph without prior permission from the copyright holder.

Dogs and Pets

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome. All other dogs and pets are not allowed in the Royal Reception Rooms.

Toilets

Access to the toilets is reserved for paying visitors. The nearest public lavatories may be found at Amagertorv.

Parking

There is very limited parking in the area around Christiansborg, e.g. in Slotsholmsgade and by Frederiksholms Kanal. Only employees of Christiansborg are allowed to park at the Riding Ground Complex and in the inner courtyard.
